On the Christian Left: Being open is one thing, but allowing sin is another.

On Catholicism: Since when did God ever appointed popes? Since when do believers have to confess to priests to reach God?

On Lutherism: They say they have faith, but did they read James for what it is, instead of saying that you need works to earn salvation?

On Mormonism: Refer to that South Park episode “All About Mormons”.

On Jehovah’s Witness: Sick of their constant failed prophecies and their members knocking on my door handing out Watchtower newsletters.

On Islam: About as stupid as it can get, how can a divine being create both good and evil? It’s about as ridiculous as say that a fig tree can produce both figs and olives.

On Buddhism: Suffering to reach nirvana, only to find out nirvana is hell. Ironic, isn’t it?

On Hinduism: Reincarnation is one thing, but the caste system is another. Worshipping rats because they might be my ancestors is just flat out laughable.

On New Age Spiritualism: Should be sued for plagiarism of every pagan belief out there.

On Scientology: L. Ron Hubbard is a sci-fi writer, and Scientology is based on an alien race called Xenus who brainwashed humans with all the history, politics and religion. Need I say more?

On Atheism: Yes, you don’t believe in God because it’s simply not logical. How do you prove it if there’s a possibility that God might exist, only not limited to the planes of time and space?

On Agnosticism: Sooner or later, you’re going to have to make the jump on whether there is or there isn’t a God.

Yesterday, around a late Wednesday afternoon and early evening, a contractor accidentally drilled right into the subway line between Summerhill and St. Clair while doing repairs. This caused traffic problems as TTC scrambles to provide shuttle buses to thousands of passengers looking to get home. The Bloor subway isn’t much better, especially going eastbound. Victoria Park is still under renovations, and the lineup for the Victoria Park Buses are ridiculous.

I was actually on my way back home after going downtown to find some cheap mini dv tapes. While the major medias are thoughtful enough to take a pic of thousands of people lining up in a pack Yonge-Bloor intersection, I only saw one person snapping a shot from his iPhone at Yonge station on the Bloor-Danforth line.

To be honest, I take the TTC everyday, and in my opinion, is probably the only reliable way to get into the downtown core. Atlhough I understand there are some serious issues with funding, I also think that Toronto seriously need another viable route downtown other than the DVP or the Yonge-University-Spadina line. There is light at the end of the tunnel, though. New streetcars, light rail transit and a subway extension to Vaughun is in the works.

Carrie Prejean, Miss California and runner up to Miss USA. She is known for the controversy about her thoughts on same-sex marriage. It has been recently revealed that she has appeared in a solo adult shoot. In short, she has appeared in a porn video. She is also a Conservative Christian, which is fine, but it also holds you more accountable. However, does finding out a person is a Christian automatically put them on a higher pedestal? I may have a different political stance compared to Prejean, but I can definitely relate to her dilemma. For one thing, although I do have God in my life, I also have a short temper and a cynical thinking that borders on arrogance and self-righteousness. I have made decisions that didn’t turn out great, I have smoked weed once and I do have a pornography addiction. Those are shortfalls that I would say give me a more human aspect of myself.

Did Prejean make mistakes? Yeah, but who didn’t make a mistake? I will still hold her accountable for her actions, but what she holds in her conscious is between her and God. We don’t hold humans as being perfect, I will always admire Prejean for her honesty, not for being perfect. In a country obsessed with political correctness and pedestal role models, we all need honesty and forgiveness. After all, there’s no where to go but up.

Well, I guess this is the first time that I’m writing an actual blog, so I’ll start off with this. This is called a time journal for a reason. It’s supposed to tell you about important events that are happening and what’s going on in my mind at the time. As suggested, my name is Marty and I’m a college student. I was born in Toronto and I’m living in Scarborough (part of Toronto) with my parents and sister. I am a Chinese Canadian, and I am a Christian, but I realize that keeping the Church and State separate can benefit church more than the state.

The contents that I’ll be releasing won’t be news, but would be my opinion on what’s going on. I’ll be leaning to sports and video games for now, with a strong emphasis on basketball and baseball in sports. There will be the odd political blog and satirical ones too. For the most part, I’ll write whatever I feel that’s blogworthy. Does that give me the excuse to pull a “Perez Hilton” and slander everyone? Again, I’m a college student, and I don’t like to get sued, but I despise political correctness and I will make fun of everyone and everything.
